Monopolistic tactics and deleting data

Writer's picture: Philipp HiestandPhilipp Hiestand

It's been now more than 7 months, several emails and multiple phone calls since my first interaction to delete my data on Meta products. On every step of this journey there was only evasion and staling and I really feel the might of an american organization and there lack of obligation towards our countries laws and regulations.

It's even more depressing that we have regulation but they can't be enforced. On one hand I devasted by the fact the regulation is only as good as their implementation but on the other hand I'm not sure that force should be match with another force. That has some old caveman vibes. I don't believe the bigger stick should win the argument. I believe diplomacy, agreements and the same understanding should be the goal.

I'm advocating for more dialogue to this company and around this topic. Give this issue more voice.

#nfk #lawyer #meta #facebook #ownyourdata #instagram #privacy themed groups where is the discussion ongoing? Where can I jump in to support the privacy cause?

I will still continue calling their GDPR representative and I learned they rather say nothing than being responsible for their actions. And I still got some mailbox space left for unstoppable Instagram and Facebook notifications.
